I’ve known for a long, long time that the King and the Black Duke were brothers. Some day, if I get around to it, I’ll tell the story as to why it’s the younger brother who is king and the older brother who wishes he wore the crown.

The Black Duke’s line in the third panel is my favourite line from the movie “The Lion in Winter” starring Peter O’Toole, Katharine Hepburn, Timothy Dalton and Anthony Hopkins (who speaks the line in question with such incredible emotion that it really leaves an impression).

Another great line of dialogue from that movie:  “I know. You know I know. I know you know I know. We know Henry knows, and Henry knows we know it. We’re a knowledgeable family.”

With respect to the title of this installment, we must remember that this is a family-friendly comic strip after all.

Boy oh boy, this sure looks like quite the epic battle, wouldn’t you say? Hmm… and the two sides look quite evenly matched.

Wow. It’s as if, by complete coincidence, we’re building up to a climax that will come right around strip #300.  Wait, that can’t be right…
