JG: I really didn't think about the age-thing before I read it on the comments here, but it's fun to discuss details :P

Yeah, I agree with you on not making to many of them. Then they sort of loose their effect..

Erlend: thanks for the support on the dragon age/size issue. I never realized this issue would be so controversial!

As for the bubbles, it's tricky: I want to use some variety but I don't want it to become a huge mish-mash of different ones because I think that will be too distracting. I don't think I'll be introducing any different styles for quite a while...

About dragons and age..

I think all reptiles continue to grow all their life, but humans stop to grow often in their late teens (except in in width), so I think it's fairly logical that the baby-dragon has it's size and the same for his father =)

Btw: Love the way you use talking-bubbles as an effect :)

Toderico: Interesting theory about dragons. My theory is that since they grow to be several hundred years old, they grow very, very, very slowly. That having been said, we still don't know how old the dragonet is. I'm saving that for another time...

MobiusZero: you've done it again, you psychic guy, you! The Witch returns next week for a brief appearance. No idea when we'll see the Newt again.

Well, in almost everygame and story the dragon is larger, it may be the age of the dragon but most animals grow faster than humans. The dragon has always been shown as a adult dragon, so they probably grow fast to the point in which they are fully developed. Like the dragons father, who is like, 20x the size of the king. How did he grow so big? By most likely growing faster. (whew, i need to take a breather...)

SiL: I guess you're right about the changes not being obvious since nobody seems to have very strong feelings either way. I'm about to post some pictures comparing the "before and after" which will help people compare.

We will find out more about the Dragonet's age at some point, but not for a while.

Don't worry about the pink cheeks: they'll be around for a while.

I like the 'new' look - although I don't think it's as 'obvious' as you seem to think. Couldn't agree more about baby dragon (what's his/her name btw? wasn't Dwagon his/her Dad?) a) we have no idea how old s/he currently is, b) we have no idea at what rate dragons age, c) look at some of the large mammals like elephants, they don't mature till their teens either, d) are dragons mammals? should I be talking crocodiles? e) I can't believe I'm having this 'conversation' !!
And what is this North American obsession with getting rid of the pink cheeks?? These are not a cutsie affectation !! On this side of the pond they're perfectly normal and considered a sign of a healthy kid ... at any age !! On the other hand maybe both kids have Atopic Dermatitis and the Queen needs to take them to Witch for a nasty herbaly emollient cream?? Nuff said ...

kertcrawler: I feel that he changed substantially but if it wasn't too jarring, then that's good. I'll make a separate post tomorrow where I compare and contrast the two looks. I feel very strongly that I prefer the current one.

Toderico: Since when do dragons age faster than humans??? Can you substantiate this outlandish claim!? I knew dragons live to a far older age than humans but I didn't know anything about them aging faster. If you can prove me wrong, you will earn my undying admiration.

I think the dragon should grow up faster than the humans, cause well, its a dragon. Plus, since the Prince is older, when will his cheeks change?
