I think all reptiles continue to grow all their life, but humans stop to grow often in their late teens (except in in width), so I think it's fairly logical that the baby-dragon has it's size and the same for his father =) Btw: Love the way you use talking-bubbles as an effect :) About dragons and age..

The dragon has always been shown as a adult dragon, so they probably grow fast to the point in which they are fully developed. Like the dragons father, who is like, 20x the size of the king.
